We are excited to announce SuiteCRM will switch to a new and completely built from the ground up user interface (UI), and we want to share the first mock-ups with you. This will be part of Suite8, our next big release which is planned for the beginning of next year.

It has been a long and exhilarating road in establishing SuiteCRM as the fully open source enterprise CRM it is today from its early beginnings and we couldn’t have done it without our clients, community and partners that have all contributed to the project relentlessly over the years. And now we are ready to tackle the next stage of SuiteCRM, by switching to a new user interface. This is an exciting change we want to make sure that users like you are kept informed of our plans ahead.

The new UI simplifies interactions for users and developers, enabling the easy creation of powerful customer engagements. It will also be the starting point of building upon the new architecture for future enhancements and follows an API-first development approach to support the next re-factoring of the old SuiteCRM architecture – another mountainous goal we are in the midst of tackling.

What It Involves

Suite8 will include an Angular6 framework which will utilise the new RESTful API to provide the data. We are aiming to be even more flexible than the current SuiteCRM UI and look to integrate new areas for developers and system administrators to customise to meet their business needs.

Although we are busy with working on the future Suite8, we are also committed to keep squashing bugs and make the current 7.x SuiteCRM product as stable as possible before the new UI is introduced. You can continue to expect frequent 7.x releases.

Our Promise

We will always be 100% Open Source and that although the project may change shape and introduce bigger ideas we feel that we, SalesAgility, the home of SuiteCRM, can continue to drive SuiteCRM to continue being the best fully Open Source CRM in the world.

As always, we’re eager to heard what you think. If you have feedback on these mock-ups or ideas for other areas you would like to see, please do get in touch by leaving a comment below or jumping onto the forums.
