Whatโs in SuiteCRM 8.10.2 & 7.15.2?
This release is mainly focused on two things: fixing the majority of major issues reported on GitHub, and addressing a number of important security issues. Of course, we also managed to fit in a few visible improvements and a few more under the hood.
Sample PDF templates refresh
The sample PDF templates were long overdue a refresh, so we’ve updated all the samples with a few variations to help make it easier for you to create a professional template out of the box. We’ve also addressed a number of minor issues affecting the samples, making them clearer and easier to use.
We’ve also made a number of improvements to email in this release. Selecting a folder to view its emails in the Email module was unreliable, so we’ve fixed a range of issues around folder selection, including primary folders not saving correctly, sent folders failing to create, folder names with special characters, and child folders not displaying in alphabetical order.
We’ve fixed an issue where IMAP messages could be imported with the wrong timezone, or have their dates ignored altogether, which in some cases caused messages to be missed on import.
Finally, we’ve fixed an issue where outbound email credentials could be reset unexpectedly after changing an unrelated field in your email settings.
Under the Hood Additions
For developers, this release introduces a few new options to help make the application easier to customise. First, a new modal confirmation list which can be triggered from a backend process, where you can include logic to select related records or otherwise.
Secondly, we’ve added record-level async validators, which allow you to apply record-level logic, whereas previously you could only apply field-level logic. This allows a much wider range of customisations through module configuration.
Thirdly, relate fields now support autofill from related records. You can configure a field in the current module to automatically populate from a field on a related module’s record as soon as that related record is selected, cutting down on repetitive data entry.
