SuiteCRM Monthly Roundup – February 2024

At the start of the month, we published the latest maintenance release for SuiteCRM 7.14.3 and 8.5.1. If you missed this update, you can read all about it here.

Testing for the next feature release, SuiteCRM 8.6 is well underway and we are looking forward to making this available in the coming weeks. A few of the new features and improvements included in this release are; Global Recently Viewed, Back Button in record view, Improvements for using on a Mobile device, Easier Search and Save options, Install Improvements, and a whole lot more!

This month saw the launch of the SuiteCRM Developer Insight series, aimed at delivering developer tips and tricks.  This month the focus is on overriding default configuration values in SuiteCRM 8 including a code sample to try out for yourself, which you can check out here.

As we are in the final phase of preparing 8.6 for release, we have turned our focus to the next feature release, 8.7. The plans for this release include bringing  Two Factor Authentication to SuiteCRM 8, continuing the  improvements to make navigating easier through records. The big ticket item will be under the hood as we will upgrading Symfony to latest LTS release 6.4.

We have started planning the replacement for Studio – Module Manager. With Module Manager, not only will be you able to configure screen layout, create/modify fields, etc, but we also want to have all settings for a module in the one location, making it easier to manage and customise modules. The first increment will include some basic settings such as configuring Inline Editing/Quick Create per module.
