Hello there,

Is there really no way in SuiteCRM 7.10.4 for a user to send an e-mail from his own e-mail address without specifying an inbound e-mail account? We’d like users to send out e-mails from their own e-mail address without connecting their inbound e-mails with SuiteCRM. The outbound e-mail account is configured however the FROM dropdown in the e-mail composer remains empty. In SugarCRM 6.5 CE the FROM address would be automatically pre-filled with the user’s e-mail address.

Hi sconsulting,

Currently in order to use outbound email you must also have an inbound email. It’s definitely something we’re looking into. This issue might give some more insight: https://github.com/salesagility/SuiteCRM/issues/5376

Hi Dillon-Brown,

Thanks for looking into this issue. For us this is currently a blocking issue which prevents us from migrating from SugarCRM 6.5 CE to SuiteCRM. It would be great if this could be fixed in the near future.

just assign a personal email account to the user (a dummy), set it up under user settings and if you are lucky you will see the group email accounts as well.
