Inbound emails automatically related to sender contact

I thought this feature would work without the need of importing a message. But, as I can see, a new email will be only related to the contact who sent it only after importing this message. Is it correct? Or is it a bug?

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think that

  • yes, only imported emails can be related to records inside the CRM

  • you can set up a Group Email account so that these emails will be imported automatically

I guess version 7.10.8 was relating to the contact in “from” all the messages, without the need to import (as long as the contact was saved on the database).

Although it might have been a bug, it worked better for us because, if we activate automatic import to a Group Email account, it will import and assign automatically to admin user and then I cannot modify it anymore. If I import manually, I will be able to modify later the user assigned to. I’ll file an issue in GitHub and publish it here.
