Thunderbird plugin by Opacus Solutions is broken with 7.10

I’ve gotten the impression that support for the Thunderbird plugin is something the fellas at Opacus only do in their spare time.

Can anyone recommend a low-cost alternative? I mostly use the plugin to archive e-mails to cases, contacts and so on. I don’t mind paying something for good software.

For Thunderbird I don’t believe you have any options. See: https://suitecrm.com/suitecrm/forum/suitecrm-outlook-plugin/11962-is-opacus-dead-makers-of-outlook-thunderbird-crm-plugin

When you say “broken”, what behaviour do you see exactly? The Pro version of the plugin appeared to work with 7.10 (I ran it in evaluation mode for a week and didn’t notice anything obviously amiss).

EDIT: Note that the Opacus folks claim SuiteCRM is still supported: https://twitter.com/enable_services/status/970703217041510401

it hangs when trying to look up cases. I just type in a case number. It was working in 7.9.x

My link to the Twitter post above got hosed—anyhow, they claim as of yesterday: “Hi Dave, yes the add-on is still supported. If you have any queries feel free to email helpdesk at opacus dot co dot uk”

Might be worth a shot.

yes, I have the plugin and no answer from Opacus about the promised (when I bought ) coming update for TB 60 … no answer at all… my impression of opacus is that they are a company run by one person (Jon) when he has spare time

if I move to Outlook…is there a plugin done by a professional company for Outlook?

Thx
Dan

Agreed with your observations about their general absence of communication.

They did update the plugin a couple of weeks back, and it looks like Thunderbird 60 is now supported:

HI, to be fair… they/he immediately reacted to my 2nd email and sent me the pre-version of the TB60 version, which works great.
I think this needs to be added for fairness

Dan

Thank you for the positive feedback about the new version.

Any way, I prefer Thunderbird myself  and I would like to welcome back Opacus, your presence is needed and appreciated. Thanks for updating your plug-in.
