yes.. it is public. Do you know where we can try to track the problem? since joomla didn't return anything to the get query from suitecrm.

http://<joomlaurl>/index.php?option=com_advancedopenportal&task=create&sug=<token>

it just say "Failed to create portal user" without any other explaination?

Hi.
I had a few problems at the beginning - but now it works.

A couple of things you can do to debug this:
  • On the SUITE host use ngrep (or similar utilities) to check the incoming traffic, and see whether any traffic comes in from the JOOMLA host when you press the button, this way you are sure the URL is correct
  • On the JOOMLA host check the outgoing interface for traffic going to the SUIT host to see whether it gets out.
  • Make sure both can see its each other
  • increase the log level in the SuiteCRM admin panel to at least WARN, if not INFO to see that the data is actually received
  • Create a NEW user for just this purpose (sth like openportal) and give that user admin rights at the beginning so there is no access problems, but make sure you reset this back to normal user
  • when you created the details on the joomla host copy and paste those to try a login into the SUITE host to see whether they are correct
  • use telnet SUITHOST 443 from the JOOMLA host and see whether you can get to it
  • use telnet JOOMLAHOST 443 from the SUITE host and see whether you can get to it
  • Check "https://YOUR_SUITE_HOST/YOUR_SUITE_INSTALL/soap.php?wsdl" from the JOOMLA host whether you can see it and the soap interface returns XML.
I code, therefore I am,

May want to check if you can resolve the name of your suite server (if AOP is targeting name) from joomla. I didn't have cURL installed on the joomla server. There are pretty clear errors in your web server logs should you be faced with that.

So after trying to get 7.4RC to work with the portal i had no luck so i decided to reinstall Version 7.3.1 I got the AOP working but i wanted to know if there is a way to have the username and password stored under the contact. Also when i log into joomla with the user there is no option to create a case or see any docs etc.

I'm tying to switch from Vtiger to SuiteCRM but finding issues with the portal - not able to get it set up correctly.

I have installed Joomla 2.5.28
I have installed latest version SuteCRM
Running PHP 5.3

I installed and enable AOP extension in Joomla
IN Joomal > Components > AOP i set URL of SuiteCRM and username & password of SuiteCRM admin

In SuteCRM in AOP settings:

Enable AOP: -checked
Enable External Portal - checked
Joomla URL : www.mydomain.co.uk/joomla

Two things wrong:
When I point browser to www.mydomain.co.uk/joomla I just get a default Joomla page
When I add a contact I don;t see a checkbox for add as portal User?

Something is wring but I've hit a wall on this one ...

I have found the create portal use option - hidden away. After you ave the contact the edit menu dropdown has add portal user optoin, very bad to put it in there IMO, very frustrating ....

So I have create portal user > success
Portal user receives email > success

But My Joomla installation just shows a default Joomla page not the Portal ...

For information I was wondering the same.

The final step is to go in Joomla Menus and to ad a menu, you will be able to select menu from the open portal.
There are 3 menus that basically are the same, especially Home and case list is the same view.
I suppose this is an initial version and they are planning to ad features (like vtiger portal).
For now the basic of cases are there, and it works like a charm for me up to now in testing mode.

Also I was wondering if there is any plan to include BUGS in there ?
It would be the next step in cases I guess, at least for my needs.

Thanks for the super job!
