Email configuration

Im new with Suitecrm and im trying to configure my gmail account but for some reason is not working…
Does anyone know why?

Are you trying to set up inbound or outbound? Inbound can be set up in Emails -> Settings. Outbound can be set up in Admin -> Email Settings.

Similar problem has already been referenced as issue #554 (IMAP connectivity using SSL) on the SuiteCRM github branch:

Please also note that you need to change your gmail settings. Once you’ve logged in into your gmail account, navigate into My Account -> Connected apps & sites -> allow non-Google apps to sign-in.

I couldn’t quite find how to install these Hotfixes. I am affected by Issue #554, but I have no idea how to actually installed the proposed fix?
I guess I could just copy the PHP file over, but surely there must be a better way?

you can wait until the next release where all these hotfixes will be integrated into SuiteCRM.
