The 7.10.10 changelog mentions “Introducing re factored API version 8”, does this mean that existing usage of the API needs to be modified somehow?
I’ve been using the V8 API since the 7.10.7 release 
I don’t know much about API, to be honest, but I think this post is the best resource you’ll get in the form of “what changed between versions”:

Suite’s JSON API documentation has always been a bit of a work of fiction in my experience, so please read with caution.

Agreed, but let’s not leave it at that point! Anything you find that is wrong or needs expanding, please edit the docs. It’s easy.
Now that the code should be more stable, is the right time to fix documentation.
Well I think that this new release could have been handled better, to avoid even more confusion. Since we already had a “v8” API, why create a new one and still call it “v8”? I’d have preferred a “v9” instead (and the old v8 still working even in a “not supported” state :lol: )
