When I try to create a case in SuiteCRM, everything works fine except the Description field has no text box. I have to save the case with no description and then edit the case to put in the description.
Permissions should not be an issue. I ran these commands:
sudo chown -R www-data:www-data (on suitecrm root directory)
sudo chmod -R 755 (on suitecrm root directory)
sudo chmod -R 775 cache custom modules themes data upload config_override.php
I’m guessing I’ll have to dig into studio to find the problem, I’m just inexperienced there. Any pointers would be appreciated

I can’t say for sure, when I first installed I was only concerned with the Joomla plugin and portal users being able to create cases. I don’t recall creating cases as a SuiteCRM user.
suitecrm.log doesn’t seem to show anything relevant.
php error log just shows a whole lot of .gif not found errors.
I am getting the EXACT same behaviour after recently updating suitecrm
- If I create a new case the description field is missing
- [If I edit a case the description field is there
- If I Save and Continue or Navigate to the next case then the description field is missing
Any help greatly appreciated as my support engineers are having a torrid time using it now.
Note this error has occurred since applying the patch;
SuiteCRM patch 7.8.18 on 13/04/2018 from Version 7.8.10
