Permission denied on Registration page (images attached)

Hi,

I am on ubuntu 16.04 VM via VMware 12. I am continuously getting this permission denied page, and it doesn’t even let me move ahead even if i click NEXT.
I tried this link, http://support.sugarcrm.com/Knowledge_Base/Platform_Management/Required_File_System_Permissions_on_Linux/
but it gives me this error. PFA 2 pictures. Please help.

We are trying to integrate this with Vodia PBX which will open up new sets of customers for you and us.
I am asking this after a week of searching for this answer, because i found answers to all my other queries here.

sudo chown www-data:www-data - for ubuntu

Hello Camo,

Thankyou for your reply. But what are the chmod permission digits?? 777?

all the recommendations are on our installation guide: https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Installation

Hi Camo,

I have looked into this document.
In this document it says “d. Ensure that the Database Administrator you specify has the permissions to create and write to the SuiteCRM database.”
And i dont know which part of the permissions i am missing.
I have been going through this issue for over a week now.
I opened a ticket with you as a last resort. I am a troubleshooting guy too, but i couldn’t figure this one out by myself.
A little help of team viewer session is always appreciated.

The instructions you need are in those Installation instructions, but further up.

    sudo chown -R www-data:www-data .
    sudo chmod -R 755 .
sudo chmod -R 775 cache custom modules themes data upload config_override.php

Hi Pgr,

Did this previously too.
Did it again.
Still on the same page.
A teamviewer session would be highly appreciated.

After you reset permissions I recommend that you run a Quick Repair and Rebuild, then reset permissions again.
Then log out and clear the browser cache.
All this may seem a bit of a repetition but it is, most of the times, useful.
One more thing: maje sure that your cron jobs are set to run with the same user as SuiteCRM.

Please… your screenshot shows SugarCRM Community Edition. You’re on the wrong forums, we’re SuiteCRM here…

Or better… go and download the real thing here:
https://suitecrm.com/download

Trying to install one program by following the installation instructions of another won’t get you far…

My Apologies.
I got your forum the first thing on google search for this.
If this doesn’t work for me, i am considering moving on to suiteCRM.
We have a big account after all.
Thanks anyway guys.

Have you been using SugarCRM for some time, or are you only starting now?

Because if you’re starting now, you should definitely start with SuiteCRM. If not, you should indeed consider migrating when you get a chance.
